Dishvera is a practical recipe website for everyday home cooks. Our goal is simple: make affordable, approachable food easier to prepare, with clear instructions and ingredients that are widely available.
Who is behind Dishvera?
Dishvera was created by Nico Verplaetsen in Belgium. The website brings together affordable everyday recipes with clear instructions in English, Dutch, French, Spanish and Polish.
Simple food for real life
We focus on recipes that fit real kitchens, real schedules, and realistic budgets. You will find quick weekday meals, comforting soups, family-friendly dinners, vegetarian ideas, seasonal dishes, and recipes for special occasions.
Each recipe is written to be easy to follow. Where useful, we include both US customary and metric measurements, practical substitutions, preparation tips, storage guidance, and food-safety reminders.
Our editorial approach
Dishvera Editorial Team is the editorial name used on this site. Artificial intelligence (AI) assists with preparing and translating text and comparing recipe information.
Data checks are combined with closer examination of selected recipe texts. The checks described here concern written instructions and recipe data.
- Clarity: instructions should be understandable without specialist knowledge.
- Practicality: recipes should work with normal home-kitchen equipment.
- Accessibility: ingredients and alternatives should be easy to find.
- Transparency: we aim to label substitutions, estimates, sponsored content, and affiliate links clearly.
- Safety: readers are reminded to consider allergies, dietary needs, safe internal temperatures, and proper food storage.
Text reviews compare the ingredients, quantities and units with the steps and recipe card. They look at the order of preparation, doneness guidance and whether preparation, cooking, resting and cooling times fit the written method. Translation comparisons focus on preserving quantities, servings and recipe information across English, Dutch, French, Spanish and Polish.
These text and data checks are not practical kitchen tests.
A note about results and images
Cooking times, nutrition estimates, costs, and serving sizes can vary depending on ingredients, equipment, location, and portion size. Use your own judgment and follow applicable food-safety guidance.
Nutrition figures are calculated per stated serving from ingredient quantities and reference composition data, including USDA FoodData Central and, where needed, other primary food databases or producer information. Ingredient state and the stated number of servings are taken into account. The figures are estimates, not laboratory measurements. Optional additions, brands and portions can change the result.
Some recipe images on Dishvera are generated with AI. These illustrations show a possible appearance of the dish and do not document a cooking test. The finished result may look different.
Our home-cooking photos
Our Spiced Sweet Potato Coconut Soup article includes original photos of the soup we made at home, alongside a note from our table. These photos document that particular preparation.
